We are class 3e from the Louise-Schroeder-School in Hamburg-Altona — and in our project, we did two things at once: our first radio show and our small school newspaper “Louise News”!
Both focus on two exciting topics: Morocco and children’s rights. So that we could share a lot, we researched, collected information, and prepared texts — for listening in the radio show and for reading in the "Louise News".

We found out what makes Morocco special. And we also wanted to know what adults here in Altona know about Morocco. That’s why we conducted a street survey and interviewed people with a microphone. It was exciting, but also really cool!
Then we dealt with children’s rights. We asked ourselves: What do children need to live well? Then we learned how children’s rights came about and why they are so important. We looked more closely at two rights in particular: the right to education and the right to freedom of expression and participation — that is, that children are allowed to have a say.

A highlight was our interview with a children’s rights expert: we spoke with May Evers, who works for Plan International. She told us a lot about why children’s rights must be protected everywhere in the world and why equal opportunities for girls and boys are so important.

And perhaps the most exciting part was this: we had a live video conference with children from Marrakech! The students from the Assadara Plus School told us about their school and everyday life, and we were able to ask them many questions.

In the end, a radio show with reports, surveys, interviews, and music, and the “Louise News” with our most important information and stories were created. We hope you enjoy listening and reading them as much as we enjoyed producing them!
We thank May Evers for the great interview and the students from the Assadara Plus School in Marrakech for the exciting video conference!
