Nature & Environment Other Germany

Save the sparrows!

The house sparrow is found in most parts of the world. But unfortunalety in many regions the house sparrow is now a disappearing species.

Here in Berlin we still have a strong population. So Berlin is not only the capital of Germany, but also the capital of house sparrows. Or as we say in German – ‘Haussperlinge’ or ‘Spatzen’

Listen to Amanda’s report about Berlin’s Spatzen on the occasion of the World Sparrow Day on march 20th!

A big thank you to Amanda for her report, Huda and Irem for their drawings and Helim for recording the sparrow’s voices!

What about the house sparrows in your city and country? Your reports, drawings and pictures are highly appreciated!

And here comes some ‘sparrow action’ from India! Thanks to the kids from AFRC India and Anil Emage!
